A useful airport lounge can make a long connection between Europe and Asia more comfortable, but access rules and facilities differ substantially. A Business Class ticket does not open every lounge, status benefits depend on the operating airline and some independent lounges charge separately for showers or impose time limits.
This guide compares five practical lounge options at major connecting airports. The selection is not a universal ranking: the best lounge for your trip is the one you can enter in the correct terminal without an inconvenient transfer. Facilities and access details below were checked against operator information on 31 October 2026.
1. Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge — Doha (DOH)
Al Mourjan Business Lounge South is a practical premium option for eligible passengers connecting through Hamad International Airport. Qatar Airways lists à-la-carte and buffet dining, private workstations, quiet areas and shower facilities.

Who can use Al Mourjan
Complimentary access depends on the fare rather than the words “Business Class” alone. Qatar Airways lists access for its First Class passengers and passengers booked on Business Elite, Comfort or Classic fares, as well as eligible oneworld First and Business Class passengers. Qatar Business Lite and Economy passengers may be offered paid access, subject to the conditions and availability shown for their journey.
Priority Pass is not listed as an admission method on Qatar Airways’ lounge page, but travellers should verify the access shown on their booking rather than relying on a blanket exclusion. 2. Turkish Airlines international lounges — Istanbul (IST)
Istanbul Airport has separate Turkish Airlines lounges for different passenger groups. This distinction matters because a Business Class ticket and Star Alliance Gold status do not necessarily send travellers to the same lounge.
Lounge Business eligibility
Turkish Airlines says its international Lounge Business is for eligible Business Class passengers travelling on Turkish Airlines or another Star Alliance airline.
Lounge Miles&Smiles eligibility
The international Lounge Miles&Smiles serves qualifying Miles&Smiles members and eligible Star Alliance Gold passengers under the airline’s carrier, itinerary and guest rules. Turkish Airlines also states that eligible passengers can purchase entry to the Miles&Smiles section with miles. This is narrower than general walk-up cash admission.

3. Pearl Lounge — Abu Dhabi (AUH)
The Plaza Premium-operated facility at Zayed International Airport is now called Pearl Lounge. It is in Terminal A near Gate D43, so passengers should confirm that this location works for their departure gate and connection.

The operator’s page provides current booking, opening-time and pricing information. It does not substantiate universal Priority Pass admission or entry through an unspecified premium airline ticket, so confirm the precise entitlement with the lounge programme or airline before relying on it. 4. Marhaba Lounges — Dubai (DXB)
Marhaba operates lounges across Dubai International Airport’s terminals, making it an option for passengers whose ticket does not include an airline lounge. The important step is to select the lounge that matches both the terminal and concourse on the boarding pass.
Ways to enter a Marhaba Lounge
- Book paid entry directly with Marhaba
- Use Priority Pass at a participating location, subject to that lounge’s conditions
Facilities, time limits and extra charges are location-specific. For example, Priority Pass lists a three-hour maximum stay at the Terminal 3 Concourse A lounge and says showers cost extra there. 5. SilverKris Lounge — Singapore Changi (SIN)
Singapore Airlines’ SilverKris lounges at Changi are intended primarily for eligible premium-cabin passengers. The airline lists warm food, Wi-Fi and shower facilities, making the lounge useful during a long connection when the passenger’s ticket qualifies.
SilverKris Business Class access
Eligible Business Class passengers departing on Singapore Airlines or a Star Alliance flight can use the Business Class section of the SilverKris Lounge. Star Alliance Gold status should not be treated as automatic SilverKris access when travelling in Economy: qualifying status passengers generally use the separate KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Changi.

How to get lounge access when flying Economy
Use an independent lounge membership
Priority Pass advertises access to more than 1,900 lounges and airport experiences worldwide as of the review date. That figure includes airport experiences as well as lounges, and it does not mean every lounge at an airport participates. Visit limits, guest fees and included services depend on the membership and location. Check the specific airport listing in the Priority Pass directory before departure.
Check card and bank benefits carefully
Some payment cards include lounge visits, but the provider, visit allowance and guest policy vary by issuing country and plan. A card may use Priority Pass, LoungeKey or another programme. Confirm the current benefit in the card issuer’s terms rather than assuming that similarly named plans have the same access across Europe.
Use the access included with a ticket or status
A premium-cabin ticket may include lounge entry, although restricted Business Class fares can be excluded. Airline status can also provide access when the operating carrier, itinerary and alliance rules qualify. Check the lounge invitation in the airline app or manage-booking page.
Buy access directly when available
Some airline and independent lounges sell entry online or offer it during booking. There is no dependable universal price range: the charge can vary with the airport, lounge, duration, date and included services. What to verify before choosing a lounge
- Terminal and concourse: airport security or immigration rules may prevent movement between terminals.
- Opening time: a lounge may not cover an early departure or overnight connection.
- Admission window: some lounges limit entry to a set number of hours before departure.
- Guest policy: companions and children may require separate payment.
- Facilities: food, alcohol, showers, quiet rooms and work areas are not standard at every lounge.
- Shower terms: availability may be limited, reservable or charged separately.
